Thieves Take Aim At Shaw Industries

It was chaos in Queens this afternoon as thieves led by a costumed villain struck a warehouse owned by Shaw Industries, cutting short a local Little League ballgame at nearby Mel Finkelstein Park.

Numerous heroes were on the scene to protect the innocent bystanders caught in the proceedings, including local vigilantes Spider-Man and Spider-Girl, who were seen rescuing a number of Little Leaguers from a freak whirlwind shortly before police arrived on the scene. The other heroes present could not be identified as of press time.

While there were no significant injuries reported, several thousand dollars in property damage was dealt to the area, and most of the thieves

-- as well as their ringleader, identified by witnesses only as 'Klaw' -- were able to escape. However, roughly a dozen men in yellow hazmat suits were successfully detained and taken into custody.

When approached for comment regarding the incident, CEO Sebastian Shaw said, "Of course we support the actions of these so-called vigilantes in helping combat the underhanded dealings of these villains, and Shaw Industries seeks no damages from those involved. As it is our facility that was the target of the theft and defended from it, we have contacted our neighbors and the city to pay for the necessary repairs at no taxpayer cost. That is all."

Spider-Man could not be reached for comment.
