A group of teenagers practicing Parkour on the Gotham Waterfront Monday morning came across a gruesome scene this morning when they found a dead body, mangled beyond all recognition. A GCPD official on the scene was quoted as saying the corpse looked as if it had been attacked "by a wild animal."
However, upon examination the Gotham City Coroner's office identified the corpse as one Zvikov Valentinovich, a Russian immigrant with known organized crime connections. In addition, the Coroner's office noted that this was not, as they described it, a "ragged mauling" - Valentinovich was tortured to death with, as they described it, precisely placed knife-cuts, intended to inflict the maximum amount of agony before death. Indeed, many of the cuts on Valentinovich's body ran perfectly parallel to each other, in perfect duplicate of the "Shredder" killer in New York, who also targeted organized crime figures.
Valentinovich's family declined to release a statement about his death, but given the Russian Mafia's unusually subdued response to "Shredder" murders of its affiliates in New York, experts have begun to speculate...
