What: Kitty and Nicky discuss Asgardians and Robots

Monday Afternoon. While Nicky is a School dropout with all the free time it gives, there needs to be done other things besides fangirling over her beloved teenage god Loki and fixing 'mama' Lois Lane's apartment for letting her stay there. And then you can't play flute all the time alone. So Nicky has packed her flute, donned a jacket and moved down to the next phone to call Kitty. Sure, she was going to that fancy school in Westchester, but maybe she could skip a few classes for some fun in NYC? How long was it to that school anyway? And while she waits, she can simply play the flute for some pocket change, and maybe buy a coffee or chocolate for her friend. And so she does, sitting in a little park to play her flute between all those noble boutiques. It's Cats this time, the Overture.

Kitty, as it turns out, seems to have no qualms about stopping by, and it's only an hour or so later that Nicky hears a grinning, "Curious things, cats."

Nicky Steiff blinks as Kitty comes around the corner like she would lice just next door. Lowering the flute, Nicky lifts an eyebrow. "I thought you need an hour from Jersey and Gotham over here, how you come down here from Westchester in less than one and a half?" Nicky teases, starting to dissemble the flute and picking up the 10 dollars from its casing. "Don't tell me you can fly."

Kitty Pryde grins. "What makes you think I was in Westchester when you called?" she winks. And if she arranged to tag along when someone was taking the Blackbird out and just phased through the floor when it was nearest to Nicky, well, what's the difference? "Nah, not -fly- exactly." she answers, amused. "How goes it?"

Nicky Steiff ponders about the statement a moment or two, shrugging her shoulders "Because it's a school day?" she eventually said, smiling "Quite well, quite well. Did you run through someone lately?" she teased a tad. Tucking the flute into her backpack she points over to a small coffee shop "Want a cup?"

Kitty Pryde chuckles. "One or two." she replies demurely. "As for school.." she momentarily looks a bit pensive. "..I dunno. Anyhow, I'm not officially attached to it at the moment." she follows Nicky's gaze to the shop, her hands in her jacket pockets. "Sounds good!" She takes one hand out to offer Nicky a hand up from where she was sitting with her flute. "I heard Loki's back safe and sound, huh?"

Nicky Steiff nods quickly on the mentioning of her best buddy, a slight smile on her lips "yea, he is back. And all the miracle magical boy from before again. That thing that ate him did steal his powers even! How dare it to steal a total hero's power! Would you steal a Green Lantern's ring?" Nicky's talk is almost a rant as she moves over to the coffee shop, hands in the pockets.

Kitty Prydeis still smiling as she walks along with her friend, pushing open the door to the shop. "Well -I- wouldn't steal any hero's power, but I'm guessing whatever was behind that mask wasn't exactly friendly, huh? I guess that's the kind of entity you -need- heroes to defeat, right?"

Nicky Steiff nods a tad as she walks. "I had Zachary Zatara and Dr. Bruce Banner and Moon Knight and even Axiom helping me to get Loki back!" That Axiom did almost nothing she didn't mention, it was AXIOM! currently her number 2... after Loki. "Coffee or Chocolate? I pay."

Kitty Pryde raises her eyebrows. "Zatara...he's a teen magician, isn't he? I've heard of Dr. Banner, and I think maybe Moon Knight. But hey! How was meeting Axiom, then?" she nudges Nicky with a grin. She's a little surprised about the offer, but sees that Nicky is serious about it, and picks something caffeinated and creamy.

Nicky Steiff shruggs a tad "Not sure about him being really teen, but I guess yea. Maybe almost 20 or such." she contemplates, paying for the offer with the money earned by fluting. "It was like... PLOPP, you know? All fluffy and all... and he totally is Loki's nephew of some sorts! Even if the adoption and all got canceled... Adopting is not like taking in a stray cat, or something, but Asgard might be different in that respect. Hell, I could leave him a message when Loki was all unmagical normal."

Kitty Pryde grins. "Is 'PLOPP' an adjective, now? But I think I know what you mean." she blinks. "They're related? Loki can send him messages?"

"Not by blood and legal anymore, but at some point they were totally uncle and nephew! and he left a cellphone number to send texts to!" Nicky's voice almost is a squeal. "Had to fix up my list a tad, and still not sure where to push Mr. Maidman Zachary Zatara into it. He can make really really good pancakes!"

Kitty Pryde pffs! "Maidman?" though she looks generally surprised..she can only imagine how Nicky feels about having one of her favorite hero's cellphone numbers, and them being essentially a relation to her good friend.

"Hell, he looks cute with an Apron! Almost like that comic book hero. You know, the one with the goddamned looser heroine with tons of determination... what was her name again?" Nicky ponders about it a moment, then shrugs "but I may only call and leave a message if it is really really urgent. Like getting abducted or Loki loosing powers urgent."

"A loser heroine?" Kitty seems surprised at Nicky's sudden vehemence, but she doesn't know what comic she might be talking about. "Yeah, seems like the best idea." she agrees. Wouldn't want to get her phone number privileges revoked and all that! Kitty goes over to lean on the counter near the window where the drinks will appear. "Busy time, then!" she pauses a moment. "..You heard about those purple robots all over?"

Nicky Steiff blinks once, then slowly nods "They arrest all those mega criminals. I heard they try to root up Slade Wilson in Bludhaven." Taking her hot brewerage, she sips at it "And damn, they are right to do that. Look what he did to the city."

"That's the pitch I heard too." Kitty collects her drink, frowning a bit as she brushes some hair over her shoulder and sips the coffee. "..But for peace keeping devices, they seem pretty weaponized. The police aren't supposed to be soldiers."

"But then, why do soldiers roam the street all the time? I mean one high profile soldier. Captain America. Ok, he is an Avenger and has special clearance, but he is military. Or was." Nicky shrugs on her answer, pondering some. "well, maybe they could have made them blue instead of purple."

Kitty Pryde hehs, moving over to a small table to sit. "Sure, and like you say, he has special clearance to act as a hero. And I mean, if a robot or someone controlling them is using them for crimefighting, fair enough, but.." she frowns. "A whole army of them? And I heard some of the people they've been picking up are..strange choices."

Nicky Steiff blinks "Strange choices?" sitting down she tilts her head, pondering about what that is supposed to mean "I mean, who would be a strange choice? Wade Wilson is a mercenary, and he belongs locked up. Maybe in Arkham."

Kitty Pryde says, "I heard some about that, but some of the people who have been picked up, are just... I mean no one I've ever heard of, and what reports there are say they were just minding their own business. Kilroy Conneticut? Marc Spector? There was a mutant called Mab, but I've never heard of her before."

Nicky Steiff just looks puzzled "Who is Marc Spector? A Murderer or something? And who's this Killroy? But of course, not all people can be a Terrorist like Magneto who can transport his self proclaimed country or an Imperator of own grace like Victor van Doom."

Kitty Pryde shakes her head, baffled. "I have no idea who any of them are. I just wonder why they need killer robots to arrest people no one's heard of, and apparently people trying to get information on why or where they're being held are getting nowhere."

Nicky Steiff ponders about it a bit, the forehead moving into a hillside pattern "I haven't heard about most of the people that are in medical detectives either. And they all are murderers that got arrested and convicted."

Kitty Pryde says, "Medical detectives?"

Nicky Steiff snickers a moment, then sips of her coffee before she answers "A television series. They analize how they found out who killed some people with medical and other forensic stuff. At times pretty gruesome, but very interesting."

Kitty Pryde says, "Oh. Yeah, I get that the police might have found criminals they want to nab that aren't well known to the public, but the police also tend to -say- what people are arrested for, and let people know where they're being held." she frowns, swishing her paper coffee cup. "It just seems fishy, and they came out of nowhere.""

Nicky Steiff looks baffled now. "Now that you mention that... yea, I never saw them before. But then again I grew up in a purifier infested mini town in Maine. Maybe I just never noticed."

Kitty Pryde hms, leaning back with one elbow over the back of her chair. "I heard some rumors they may be after mutants especially." she says. From what she has pieced together of their activities, it doesn't seem so clear cut..but still, she figures the young Nicky still working herself out is probably better warned. "So be careful, huh..?" there's also the fact Nicky is living with a god who tried to destroy New York, according to some. "You and Loki both."

Nicky Steiff nods slowly, but as she starts to speak, she does so with speeding up voice "I do my best to be careful, but if they want to arrest Loki for what that other Loki did, I will call Thor. He might hate Loki, but he will HAVE to aid his brother. I mean... I will make Press know about him being a total jerk if not!"

Kitty Pryde laughs, shaking her head a bit at Nicky's response with a grin. "Okay. I just wanted to make sure you guys were watching out. Hopefully someone will figure out what's behind all of this and set it right soon."
