Gotham - More details on yesterday's near disastrous building collapse have surfaced. For those of you just tuning in, the scheduled implosion demolition of the old Sedora Building at the corner of 25th Avenue and Texar Street on the West Side almost ended in disaster when two of the explosive went off prematurely. The explosions set the building to toppling to the south and almost collided with the neighboring apartment complex.
Eyewitnesses at the time reported that the building topple somehow slowed and that a large grey skinned male in a 'Doctor Who' t-shirt, accompanied by what appeared to be a number of robots, suddenly appeared from on top of one of the surrounding buildings. The drones, for lack of a better term, robots merged into a larger humanoid robotic construct and attempted to leverage the building while the young man barehandedly cleared tons of debris that had dropped in front of the apartment complex, clearing a path for the people to evacuate.
The grey superhuman, now identified as the mutant Freeman "Carbon" Lonsdale, then rushed back into the leaning building and seemed to attempt to help demolish it from the bottom upwards, possibly to assist the mechanical giant, now reported as the cybernetic hero Rampart, by lightening the load of the building he was attempting to hold up by brute strength and what seemed to be some sort of energy field. The building finally collapsed, into the spot it was supposed to but not before Mister Lonsdale was able to escape.
Other eyewitnesses report that as the dust was settling Rampart separated into his composite drones and attempted to search for Mister Lonsdale with the aid of a third male, elderly, who seemed to have some kind of telekinetic ability. The elderly man had already left the scene when the Fire Department and Police arrived but not until he aided in Mister Lonsdale's recovery from the ruins.
Police spokesperson have informed us that that Mister Lonsdale, who only last week was in the news for assisting an unknown superhero in defending the Metro Museum of Art from The Hulk, was checked over by emergency personnel and apparently unharmed. There were no fatalities and only a handful of minor injuries.
Rampart provided the police with video, data and detailed analysis of the entire narrowly diverted disaster to aid what will probably be a lengthy and in depth investigation.
As of this time third individual has not been identified. It was confirmed by both Mister Lonsdale and Rampart that he did indeed assist them, using his unspecified abilities to assist in keeping the building from toppling completely, but neither have been able to give the police a name of this unknown hero.
