What: It's Danger Room training time for the X-men! And the Iceman's running the program this time. He says its supposed to be an island obstacle course and that the dress code is beachwear. |
This evening, Bobby's reserved the Danger Room but he's also put out an invitation for people to join him. Little cards welcoming the team to come and join him for a 'tropical good time' with 'bring your swimsuits!'. And when people enter the danger room, the cool air of the lower levels' A/C is replaced with a warm tropical breeze. The scent of ocean and the sounds of the waves crashing against the sand can be heard. It's a veritable tropical paradise, one of Bobby's favorite Danger Room settings. Farther along the beach, the Iceman in question is leaning back in a beach chair in just his X-speedo and some sunglasses. He's waiting for people. Out on the water there's a large inflatable obstacle course but given that its the danger room, there's probably more to it than any mundane one. Rings also float in the air for anyone who wants to test flight or agility up there.
Rogue entered the Danger room wearing a wine colored tshirt, some blue jeans, boots and wine colored long gloves that went up past her elbows. "What the." She said as she looked around the tropical setting. "This don't look all that dangerous..." She murmered and started to walk toward where she saw Bobby in a chair. When she reached him she stood there beside his beach chair and smirked down at him. "Is skin cancer the dangerous part of this settin?" She asked him.
Bobby smiles to himself as he hears Rogue's approach. He waits until she speaks to look at her though. Tipping his sunglasses, Bobby grins. "Who said all the settings have to be dangerous?" he asks with a laugh. "We can train without holographic villains and giant buzzsaws," he replies. Of course its Bobby so there's always danger of pranks somewhere. But for now, things look safe and fun.
"I kinda liked the buzzsaws." Rogue said back down at the other. She grinned at him and put her gloved hands on her hips... the simulated wind in the room was blowing her hair about her face and she just let it, she'd had crazy hair since she was a little girl and she was used to it being all a mess. She just spun around and planted her butt down in the sand beside him. "This is pretty damn nice though... I didn't even know it could do this. I thought it was all just, doom'n gloom'n this room." She sucked in a deep breath and looked out at the fake water. "It even smells beachy... How the hell does this room even work." Tech stuff, aka Rogue's bane.
"Oh, you'll hurt the giant crusher wall's feelings of you play favorites like that," Bobby teases. He looks Rogue over and ends up chuckling when she flops into the sand. "I can get you a chair if you want," he offers. "The Danger Room can simulate any environment. I figured why limit to battlefields and extra classrooms awhile ago. Programmed in a bunch of stuff we can use. And since its all environments, if someone really insists on a fight, they can plug in bad guys too," he says. "The vents spray stuff in. Like...air freshener but way better."
Rogue laughed lightly and she lifted up off of the ground just a little and leaned back in an invisible chair, even going so far as to cross her arms behind her head and she looked over at him. "Who needs chairs!?" She exclaimed with a follow-up grin at Bobby. "Hey, you should program in a volleyball net so that I can lounge here and watch the nearly-naked men play like in that Top Gun movie." She glanced around then. "Maybe... program in one to bring me a fruity icy alcoholic beach drink too, that'd be the bee's veritable knees, yo."
"Those of us that can't float," Bobby snickers. All of Rogue's requests get Bobby's eyebrows arching and he laughs. "I can do volley ball net but I'm the only nearly naked guy around right now," he replies. "I mean sure we could get some holograms but they're not as fun."
"Oh. I imagine they'd get the job down." Anna-Marie said with her arms still crossed behind her head on her invisible lounge chair. "And the best part is, you can make them so they don't talk and that when you get sick'a them you can just walk outta the rooma nd they can't follow after." This got a soft chuckle out of the young woman and she wiggled her booted feet back and forth. "I know the invite said to bring my own bathin suit, but I thought that was some kinda trick and if I showed up in a bikini then everyone would be in here in full gear, starin' at me and then laughin' at me."
"So you just want a brainless boy toy," Bobby remarks, teasing. "Can't say one of those would be all bad for a little bit," he adds with a laugh. Copying Rogue's pose, Bobby shakes his head. "Naw, not my style of prank," he replies. "At least not anymore. That's more a teenage Bobby thing...and I only did it to Warren once."
Rogue chuckles at Bobby and she looks over at him. "You really have gotten a lotta people good." She tells him. "I'm glad that I don't think I was ever one'a them. Though... maybe thats why I kept gettin' kicked in the rear that one day..." She narrowed her green eyes at him then for just moment of accusatory examination before she relaxed and looked back out at the water. "Oh well. I probably deserved it. I run my mouth off a lot, afterall."
"Iam the unquestioned prank master of the Institute," Bobby declares. "No matter what Kurt says," he adds. "Naw, that one wasn't me. Students," Bobby replies in a way that may or may not be honest. Laughing, the cryokinetic leans back and puts his sunglasses back over his eyes. "Course the jokes were on everyone last time I ran this program."
Rogue reached into her pocket and pulled out a plastic case of gum. She took one and popped it into her mouth and then offered him one. "I wasn't here for that." She says at him before stuffing the case back into her jeans side pocket. She put the gum in hermouth and then put her arms back behind her head. "Ya'll do all kindsa fun shit without me around. I think one'a these days I'll take the hint on that and cry about it for a lil'while... But... probably not today."
Declining the gum with a little wave, Bobby chuckles. "We're not avoiding you on purpose," he rolls his eyes. "Or at all. I put out an invitation and the people that showed up got invovled in some chaos," he chuckles. "Basically...Kurt tried to mess with my program and we got a bunch of those little BAMF things running around. Then pretty much everyone ended up naked for awhile through various mishaps," he laughs at the memory. "And then we were dressed as pirates. Betsy ended up in one of those huge and puffy frilly dresses too. Look on her face was priceless"
Rogue laughed just a little at this thought. "I bet she's never been able to shake the nightmares of wearin' something that didn't directly expose every contour of her crotchal region." She kept chewing her gum after saying this and she grinned over at him before she looked back at the water. "I, personally, enjoy every opportunity I come across where I can dress like a pirate and not be judged for it. But, then again... Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I guess thats not too surprisin really, to folk who know me well enough."
"Probably," Bobby laughs. "Pirate time was fun though," he says with a nod. "We fought a squid monster. Though speaking of Halloween," Bobby glances over with a grin. "Planning things for this year yet?"
Rogue grins at him and she nods her head then at the late question. "Aye, matey. I be plannin' lots." She says in as goofy a voice you'll ever hear the southern belle poorly attempt. "I wanna set this room up for a new sport that I've made up in my head... Called like... X-Ball or something. I dunno. But yeah, I thought if i could get a buncah the Junior and Seniors signed up for it that maybe they'd enjoy it. But... may have to dip into the younger grades too since its not like we're some kinda over-populated public school."
"X-Ball?" Bobby's interested now, both brows arching. "Does it have rules or is it Calvin ball but better?" he asks.
"Nah..." Rogue laughs a little and shakes her head. She floats back down to sit on the warm simulated sand and she puts her hands on her lap. "What ya do is ya build this raised up platform and you get these guns on it that three or four folk can man... a team'a people. Then another team is around the platform on all sides and they gotta rush the gun platform and use their mutant powers... and teamwork... to slam a ball into a box under the raised-up guns, taking each gun out and avoiding being shot and eilminated from the game. Take turns on the platforms then, best team at both things wins."
Bobby listens intently, shifting in his chair to sit with his legs folded under him. He nods as Rogue explains the rules, brows shooting up at the mention of guns. "So like...paintball guns or laser tag stuff?" he's a curious snowman.
