What: Cir-El Rewards Juggernaut |
Cain is currently in a fairly normal apartment, sitting on a couch and watching TV. He has a hugely oversized couch, the sort of thing that it's slightly easier to find in Mutant Town due to the number of people with...alternate body types. It already looks a bit broken in. Sipping a beer, he flips through the channels. Carefully. He's already accidentally broken a remote. The window is open, since he's not really bothered by temperature and it helps keep the place aired out.
Cir-El was given a way to find Cain, a magic compass that would point to him, it is a one shot spell. She gets close and searches the area with her X-Ray vision until she locates his room. Then she lands, and walks to the front desk. Checking the room number against the register, she says to the man at the desk, "I have a package for Mr. Marko."
The man at the front desk looks startled when somebody in a superhero costume walks into his building, staring wide-eyed at Cir-El for a few moments. He seems unsure whether it's just an outfit or if she's actually a supertype. He looks around a few moments and says, "Ah...yes. I'll look up the name." He types at his computer a few moments then says, "That wold be apartment C-7, Miss...um. Miss."
She comments, "Miss El if you want to be technical. Thank you." She takes the stairs up, for her it is faster. She rings the doorbell and waits, holding a small lockbox in her left hand.
Hearing the knock Cain lets out a low grunt, clicking off the TV and rising to his feet. "Be there in a minute." He's wearing sweatpants and a tee. That's about it. Moving over to the door, he unlocks and opens it. Upon seeing Superlass, he stares for a few seconds then says, "What the hell. What are you doing at my apartment?" Cir-El says, "I am a firm believer that good behavior deserves a reward, as much as bad behavior deserves punishment. My sisters and Stepmother told me what you did the other day on Park Row, so I scrounged up a little something to reward you for your aid." She extends the lockbox. She adds, "It is not currently locked."
Cain frowns at that. "Who? What, the robots and the smoke lady?" He takes the box curiously and opens it. "That still doesn't explain why you're at my apartment. Or how you knew where I live."
Cir-El replies, "I asked my stepmother for a way to find you, she crafted a spell to bring me to the right general area, once close I used my super senses to find you."
Looking in the box, Cain grunts faintly. "Gold coins. Okay. Never been paid with those before." He closes the box. "Is there some official place to send bills to by the way?" He closes the box, then tosses it on a chair near the door.
Cir-El shrugs, "I actually have an account set up with the Bureau of Superhuman Affairs. Any rewards I earn go into it, and any collateral damage I cause comes out of it. I am not sure how other heroes handle things."
Cain nods at that. "Right. So I'll send any future bills to them." His head tilts as he looks her over. "Didn't I give you a beating at some point?"
She chuckles, "A bit of one, and then I had a friend help me toss you out into the ocean. I have learned a lot since then, but hopefully we do not have to fight again." Actually setting up the account with the BSA is why she wound up adopted, being biologically 15 at the time, she needed legal adult supervision.
Cain grunts again. "Right. Well. Don't go sharing that I live here with everybody. I like my privacy too." No comment on whether they'll work together again or not. In his line of work, you never know.
Superlass comments, "I could have found you without the tracking spell, but it would have taken a couple of hours. The magic in you means I can not see through you with my X-ray vision, spotting you is fairly easy. Superman could do it faster, but I am still growing and not yet as good as him. I will not tell anyone WHERE I found you, but keep in mind if I can find you, so can others...each in their own way."
Cain sighs, "Right. Of course. Well. That's good to know I guess. Thanks for the gold and all. Nice seeing you again El. Hopefully I don't gotta mess you up next time we meet."
Cir-El comments, "I hope we do not need to fight again, but you know us hero types, if I have to I will. Try to stay on the right side of the law and we willnot have to worry about it." She adds, "Hopefully you can find a place to buy those at a good price. I should get going. Thanks for the help." She leavesthe apartment and is soon outside, headed for the skies.
