Background

Born to the wealthy Businessman and Entrepreneur, Warren K. Worthington, Jr. and his wife, Katherine Worthington, Warren K. Worthington III grew up without a want in the world. He was quite spoiled, attending the best schools and moving in the most elite of circles. Not only was he wealthy, but he was a beautiful boy who made friends easily, excelled at almost whatever he attempted, and was quite popular in his family's social circle. An only child, he was the delight of his parents and pretty much got whatever he wanted.

Once he hit his teenage years, however, Warren began growing distant and sullen, often begging out of the parties and social activities he used to love. For a while his parents chalked it up to teenagerly behavior, but there came a point where Warren either had to do something drastic or talk to his parents. Never overly-angsty, he finally revealed the reason for his moodiness; two wings had begun to sprout from his back. He was hiding them somewhat well, but he was growing tired of pretending. After all, with his bright white wings and blonde good looks, even he was pleased that he looked the epitome of an angelic being. Surgery was discussed and refused and eventually, a discreet search turned up Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children. He enrolled as a student at the 'ultra-elite' school for his sophomore year.

At the school, Warren had a difficult time fitting in with the others as many were from more diverse backgrounds than he was used to, but eventually he learned to become more open-minded and tolerant and to embrace his wings and other differences. No one at this school made fun of him, no one shunned him for it. As he grew into adulthood, he learned more of what he could do, made friends, and became a bit more well-rounded for his time at the Institute. He also learned ways to conceal his wings lest it cause shame upon his family and what it meant to be a part of a Team and to fight for one's beliefs.

Warren went off to an Ivy League college where he hid much of who he was, but graduated with honors and a degree in Business, intending on following in his father's footsteps. He began working, right out of college, for his father, the important title granting him a bit of privacy when he went into the office, but he was given permission to 'work from home' a great deal. He still hid his wings when he needed to, but as his involvement with the X-Men team grew, it started becoming more and more difficult. He continues to stay secret, at least until he's sure that his family won't suffer, emotionally or financially, for it.

Abilities

Power: Flight (3)

Because of the size and strength of his wings, Warren can fly, flapping and gliding as a bird does. Though he generally flies below the height of clouds (6,500 feet), because he possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system that enables him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities or altitudes, he can reach a height of 10,000 feet with little effort. With severe strain he can reach the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (African geese at 29,000 feet above sea level), but he can only remain that high for several minutes. He can fly nonstop under his own power for a maximum of approximately twelve hours. He is also, due to the strength of his wings and capacity to create faster speeds than most birds, able to reach subsonic speeds of up to 500mph.

Power: Adapted Eyes (7)
Angel's eyesight is the equivalent of that of a Hawk's; eight times more acute than that of a human. This accounts for him being able to see detailed objects from his position in the skies. Also, his eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds, which would hurt the average human eye.

Power: Enhanced Musculature (1)
Not only are his shoulders and back highly muscular in order to support the weight and movement of his wings, but his body is virtually devoid of fat and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary human does. Flying is extreme cardio and with a combination of his usual exercise and flight, his body is in peak physical condition.

Power: Healing Blood (3)
When his blood is transferred, either through a transfusion or merely touching a wound, it will help it heal. It depends on the size of the wound or the intensity of the illness, but it would certainly help speed up the process or initiate healing if it wasn't started before. It does, however, mean that he has to bleed himself which takes him the normal Human time to regenerate.

Advantages

Advantage: Wealth

Warren comes from a very wealthy family and has access to the fortune. Even though he is a Mutant, Warren was not disowned by his family. He has access to his Trust Fund, works for his father in their very successful Investment firm, and has managed his money in a way that, while he is no Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne, he will never want for money and can pretty much buy whatever he wants.

Advantage: Wings
Striking appearance and Flight ability. Warren's wings are pure, brilliant white, stretching sixteen feet from tip to tip. Fully feathered, they have a very flexible skeletal structure that allows him to press the wings tightly against his back, torso, and legs but a bulge does remain under his clothing. It is also rather uncomfortable to do this for long periods of time. These wings are incredibly strong, allowing him to carry aloft at least 500 pounds in addition to his own weight.

Advantage: Xavier Institute
Warren attended the Xavier Institute and maintains his close ties to them. While not an original member of the Institute, Warren joined a few years after it was set up and has maintained his close relationship with the school. He is also one of its Anonymous Donors to help support the education/living costs of the mutants to attend the school.

Flaws

Flaw: Difficult to Hide

Warren's mutation is quite obvious. Large, feathered wings are very hard to hide. It can be done...and it is often done whenever Warren goes to the office (which is as infrequently as he can make it) or whenever he needs to appear in public out of any sort of uniform. It is uncomfortable, painful, and quite demeaning for him to have to pretend he's something he is not yet he continues to keep the public secret for the sake of his parents. It's hanging by a delicate thread and that secret could easily be spilled unless he chooses to reveal it himself soon.

Flaw: Hollow Bones
Skeletal fragility. In addition to other changes in his physiology, Warren's bones are hollow, granting him a lighter weight than an average human his size and also allowing him easier flight. It also, however, means that his bones are more susceptible to breaking if hit (or landed on) the wrong way.

Flaw: Snob
Warren appreciates the Finer Things in Life. Yes, Warren Kenneth Worthington III can be a real snob when he wants to be. He knows the fine art of being two-faced (nice to one's face and then gossiping about them behind their back) as well as the importance of appearance. While it can be useful in certain social circles, it isn't always the best personality quirk to have when dealing with others.
