"I'm myself again! But I'm not cured! I can feel the gamma rays like a turbulence at the center of my soul! I'm still the Hulk! Still a monster!"

Doctor Bruce Banner is a former nuclear physicist whose life changed then taking the full blast of a gamma bomb he designed and was testing. As a child he was highly intelligent but withdrawn from abuse from his father and the death of his mother. This left him angry and full of hidden rage. The gamma bomb explosion turned him into the hulk, a monster that blindly raged out and left massive destruction in his wake. Learning to control the beast within is his main goal and he once went into hiding until he was found being asked to help save innocents. Still struggling with control of the hulk within him, Bruce is now a hero to others but a monster to himself.

Abilities

Power: Hulk Up

It doesn't take much to unleash the Hulk. Anger, fear, or any kind of heightened emotional state is enough to do it, and when the transformation has been triggered, it's immediate and impossible to stop. And once the Hulk is angry, there's nothing to be done but let him go until he's not angry any more. Trying to stop him will only make him angrier, and the angrier he gets, the stronger he gets.

Power: Invulnerability (9)

There's not a whole lot that can hurt the Hulk. He's taken direct missile hits and kept walking, had buildings collapse on top of him and shrugged it off. Fire, extremes of temperature, shocks, radiation (hah) barely touch him. Sustained assault is enough to immobilize him, but you're not hurting him, just distracting him.

Power: Psychic Resistance (6)

The Hulk has no real willpower to speak of, but he's so angry that it's difficult for telepaths to get inside his head. The jumble of rage and confusion is enough to deter most.

Power: Regeneration (7)

Gamma radiation is constantly regenerating the Hulk's cells. He heals in seconds what most would take weeks or even months to recover from, and even things most people wouldn't recover from at all- missing limbs or vital organs. It also means the Hulk will never suffer from muscle fatigue or physical aging.

Power: Super Jump (8)

The Hulk's preferred means of transportation. His leg muscles are so developed that he is capable of launching himself into low earth orbit or leaping across continents if he so wishes, though it's often accompanied by a staggering amount of destruction left in his wake.

Power: Super Strength (7-10)

Additional Power: Super Speed (2)

Hulk is strongest one there is! If you ask him, at least. And while that is debatable, he is incredibly powerful, and becomes moreso as his anger increases. He has yet to discover exactly how strong he is.

The nature of Hulk's enhanced muscles give him a limited form of super speed, but he can only go so fast before he begins to lose friction and destroy the ground underneath him.

Skill: Fugitive (5)

You don't stay two steps ahead of SHIELD (and every other government agency out to get you) without knowing what you're doing. Bruce has spent enough time on the run to not only survive day-to-day but do so without attracting undue attention.

Skill: Nuclear Physicist (10)

Dr. Banner is the world's foremost authority on the study of the atom. His theories and experiments are so far beyond what any of his contemporaries are doing that they're almost incomprehensible.

Skill: Scientist (8)

Even though his chosen field of study is highly specialized, Bruce has a wide range of scientific knowledge. Biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, if it's a "hard" science, he could probably teach a college course on it.

Advantages

Advantage: Scientific Authority

The accident that turned him into the Hulk aside, Banner's reputation within the scientific community is legendary. He holds a doctorate in nuclear physics from Penn State and his contributions to the field are highly respected. If you're a scientist, you probably know of him and his work.

Flaws

Flaw: Anger

The Hulk's greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. He's always angry and it makes it almost impossible for him to be reasoned with. Any perceived threat (real or not) is attacked without hesitation, and it's almost laughably easy to use his anger against him, confusing him or worse, making him attack his friends.

Flaw: DID

Dissociative Identity Disorder. Bruce and the Hulk are two separate personalities within one body, and while they know of each other's existence, when one of them is "in charge," the other is completely unaware. As such, in general neither personality can recall anything that occurs when they are not in control.

Flaw: Fugitive

While Bruce is no longer one of the world's most wanted men, he spent years on the run. His face was plastered on every news station and website across the world. There are people who are still (understandably) wary of him, and just because he's not officially a fugitive any longer, that hasn't stopped a whole lot of people who want to see him in jail. Or dead.

Flaw: Power Limiter

Theoretically, there's no limit to how powerful the Hulk can get. However, so long as Bruce Banner is buried in his subconscious, he won't reach his full potential.

Flaw: Simple-Minded

The Hulk is a creature of instinct. He has difficulty communicating, can be tricked easily, and basic concepts that even young children understand often escape him.

Flaw: Traumatized

Bruce has gone through a lot of traumas in his life. The abuse he suffered as a child that culminated in the death of his mother, constant bullying at school, his transformation into the Hulk and all of the misery that followed. It hasn't been a great run for him, so far, and it's had a serious negative effect on his mental health. He's slow to trust and reserved to the point of repression.

History[]

Bruce proved to be very intelligent as a child despite his father being physically abusive and murdering his mother. He became a nuclear physicist working for the US Government to create weapons. Creating a Gamma Bomb he was in New Mexico for testing when a civilian made their way into the testing grid. Bruce ran out to get the civilian to safety only to take the full force of the explosion. Unique body chemistry and suppressed anger kept Bruce from dying though transformed him into the hulk a monster that thrived on anger and rage which added to his strength. Leaving a wake of destruction, Bruce maintains that he will gain control of the hulk and find a cure for himself though the beast inside is always wanting to come out to play.
