Information
Name: Joshua Foley "Life. Death. Taking it, giving it. I give life. I take it. With everything my powers can do...Really Miss Pryde...What can't I do?"

Josh was once a member of the mutant-hating terrorist group the Reavers. However, he was rejected by both the organization and his parents when it was discovered that he was a mutant himself. With nowhere else to go, Josh reluctantly went to Xavier Institute, where he is currently in the process of mastering his biokinetic powers.

Background

Josh Foley joined the Reavers, an anti-mutant group led by Donald Pierce, at the behest of his best friend at the time, Duncan. When Cerebra detected a mutant in the area, agents of the X-men were sent to find him. Meanwhile, the Reavers engaged a group of students from Xavier's in a fight, and Josh discovered he was a healer by healing one of his fellow Reavers. By knocking him out, he was able to hide this for a short time until he felt compelled to heal the mortally-injured Laurie Collins. Laurie developed a crush on him as a result. When the Reavers discovered Josh was a mutant with healing powers, they rejected him and retreated. Angrily rejecting the offer to go to the X-Mansion, he went home. But his old "friends" were waiting for him and beat him severely. When his parents also discovered he was a mutant, they disowned him.

With nowhere else to go, Josh reluctantly went to the Xavier Institute. Josh sent a letter home which only caused his parents to make their disowning of him formal, handing his legal guardianship to the school. Josh made some friends at the school, however, after discovering his history with the Reavers, they rejected him as well.

Josh made new friends again; however, an incident involving another mutant losing control left Josh mortally wounded. Due to his unique physiology, he was difficult if not impossible to treat. Fortunately, with the help of his friends, he managed to regain consciousness and heal himself before it was too late. However, there was a side effect that surprised Josh: golden skin. This was possibly due to him activating a secondary mutation upon healing himself. It is believed that Josh had subconsciously turned his own skin because he'd always wanted to be the "golden boy".

Later, the older students were organized into six-member training squads. Josh was placed on the New Mutants Squad and given the codename Elixir.

Abilities

Power: Biokinesis (8)

Elixir is capable of controlling the biological structure of his own and other people's bodies. Theoretically capable of rewriting someone's genetic structure at will. He can produce biomolecular energy at will to affect organic matter he touches, allowing him to heal physical damage done to his body or the bodies of others, reactivate suppressed mutant abilities, repair cerebral functions, and alter the composition of his own molecules. He even brought Wallflower back to life after she was mortally wounded by a stab through the chest. He may eventually develop enough control of his powers to manipulate the human genome, altering eye, hair and skin colour, implanting physical characteristics or even reactivating dormant mutant or atavistic genes. Even Xavier knows not the limit of his power.

Power: Dichromatic Skin (N/A)

After Elixir used his mutant powers to heal himself, his skinned turned a golden color. His skin normally remains golden, but if he uses his powers to damage or kill his skin turns a deep metallic black. This appears to be a completely involuntary reaction.

Advantages

Advantage: Anatomy Genius

Elixir possesses genius-level understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biology thanks to the telepathic implantation of Dr. McCoy's knowledge of the subject by the Emma Frost clones known as the Stepford Cuckoos. This knowledge greatly enhances his biokinetic abilities.

Advantage: Omega-Class Mutant

Hank McCoy mentioned that Josh possessed omega-level biokinesis, which basically means that not even he or Xavier know the limits of the boy's power. Given that Josh has already demonstrated the ability to bring the recent dead back to life, even at such a young age and only having just realized he was even a mutant at all, one can only fathom what he might be capable of upon realizing the full potential of his power. However, Josh himself is not aware of this fact, as Xavier deemed it appropriate to keep it a secret from him, fearing this truth would only cause the boy to become frightened of himself.

Advantage: Xavier Institute

Josh is a student at Xavier's school in Westchester, where he is provided with food, a place to stay, as well as education and training in the mastery of his mutant abilities.

Flaws

Flaw: Exhaustion

Use of his biokinetic abilities to accomplish extreme feats of biological manipulation may wear out Elixir's body causing him to collapse or even become comatose for a time.

Flaw: Impulsive

Josh is very impulsive and will often act and/or speak rashly, getting himself into all sorts of trouble, even causing physical or emotional harm to his own friends or allies. This is partly due to the fact that he is still quite young and therefore rather immature and hotheaded.
