Background

Robbie Baldwin is the son of Springdale, CT District Attourney Justin Baldwin and actress Madeline Naylor (formerly Naylor-Baldwin). Growing up in an affluent suburb, Robbie wanted for little, except for his parents to stop fighting. Opposites don't always attract. By the time Robbie was fourteen, his parents had filed for divorce, and Robbie went to live with his mother in an apartment in NYC (though, it is a nice, upscale apartment).

In order to earn some pocket cash for himself that wasn't monitored by his mother's allowance allocation, Robbie got a job at Hammond Research Laboratory after school, usually functioning as a gopher/intern. One night, Robbie was caught in a test room where some researchers were looking to tap into an extradimensional opening for a perpetual energy source. The scientists were fine, but Robbie and the Lab Pet, Neils the Cat, were bathed in the extradimensional rays. Robbie found himself in a blue outfit with orange highlights, and freaked out.

Escaping to the roof of the lab where he came across burglars trying to break in. When they fired on him, he found a field of bubbles around his body that stopped the bullets. Unfortunately, the bullets did ricohchet, injuring some of the robbers before the cops came.

So, Robbie has odd powers he doesn't understand, a strange outfit when he does use those powers, and little to no idea if he's really superhero material.

Abilities

Power: Kinetic Attack (4)

Robbie can use his kinetic field to attack an opponent, usually by bouncing towards them and hitting them full-on. This impact could dent the side of a steel truck. This might also trigger Robbie to bounce back, depending on the toughness of the thing he's hitting. Also, by focusing, he can do a lower-power strike against multiple targets by ricocheting into them.

Power: Kinetic Bounce Field (6)

Robbie's power, when activated, is to surround himself with a high-density kinetic field. While it does allow air and light through so he can breathe, the field can stand up to tank fire without Robbie suffering any injury. Unfortunately, the drawback is that his field absorbs the kinetic force of an attack, and the field will then propel him away from the point of impact. The harder the strike, the further away Robbie will be knocked, unless he hits another object, which he will bounce off. He is still learning how to, well, stop, but it takes some effort.

Power: Travel Bounce (1)

By directing his kinetic field, Robbie can 'bounce' as a travel ability, usually from rooftop to rooftop. If he goes for the 'long jump' route, he can bounce about a mile before he touches down again.

Advantages

Advantage: Costume

Robbie's costume is made up of solidified kinetic energy, which activates when his kinetic field does. While it's a standard blue bodysuit with orange edging, Robbie can mentally change the costume to some other design. Unfortunately, he had no idea he can do this. At all.

Advantage: Fast-Talking

Robbie's intelligent (but doesn't apply himself, of course), but he goes for the 'if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS' route. He's gotten pretty good at lying through his teeth, and also laying on the charm on people with the 'no I'm a good boy really' act.

Advantage: Semi-Famous Mom

Robbie's mother is Madelyne Naylor (formerly Naylor-Baldwin before the divorce), an actress on the New York-filmed soap opera Secret Hospital. Robbie uses his father's surname out of convenience, but if there's a situation in the entertainment industry where Robbie could use his mother's name for some clout, he can and will use it.

Flaws

Flaw: Neils

Having a pet cat isn't usually a problem. Having a pet cat with its own impact-generated kinetic field similar to his own is a major headache for Robbie. By something as simple as pouncing to catch mice, Neils can activate his own superfeline abilities, and trying to catch Neil is a serious pain for Robbie, especially when he's trying to keep that whole Secret Identity thing, you know, a secret. Oddly enough, a bouncing cat surrounded by multicolored bubbles sticks out even in New York.

Flaw: Semi-Famous Mom

Having a soap actress as a parents has a downside. If Robbie gets into trouble, and it's found that his mother is a TV actress, the tabloids and entertainment news will probably be all over it, causing problems at home.

Flaw: Stooooop!

Robbie has little control, if any, over his powers. While footfalls from walking are not enough to trigger his kinetic field, any fall from more than a foot in height will, along with any similar impacts. His field will absorb the kinetic energy of the impact, and send him bouncing, with the angle of incidence equalling the angle of reflection.

Flaw: Student

Robbie's a Sophomore in high school. He has to go, be at class, do homework, ect. So, any extended absences due to misadventure are going to reflect on his attendance record, which can and will get him into trouble.

Flaw: Trouble-Seeker

Robbie likes to style himself as a party animal, which might not endear him to more conservative types. He's often looking around the city for something to do, the more exciting the better. Since getting his powers, he has little to no concern for his own safety, depending on his kinetic field to protect him.
