Lily Crane
Lily's just this girl, you know? She moved up to New York City from a small town in Jersey about five years ago, and spends her time waitressing or just generally exploring the city and looking for things to occupy herself with. She's open to all kinds of scenes as long as there isn't too much fighting involved, and is willing to talk to pretty much anyone - she isn't biased against people who look different (and often tends to prefer the company of the less 'normal' looking).

Lilia also has a very limited ability to alter memories; the only memories she can alter are those that pertain directly to her, however. In practice, this usually works out to her making people forget things that she has done, and while she can in theory /create/ memories of things, because this requires more creativity and attention to detail, it isn't something she does very often.
Power: Perception Filter (6)
Lily's primary power is the ability to create a sort of 'perception filter' with which she can allow or disallow people from realizing that she is in a given place. She can either use this as a form of camoflage, making her way through a space without being noticed at all, or she can use this to only be selectively perceived - so a small group of people may realize she's there, but nobody else will. The perception filter extends to small things that she interacts with, as well; if she picks up a book with it on, for example, nobody will see a floating book, it will just appear to have vanished from where she took it. This only extends to things up to the size of a door - she can exit a room through a door without the door appearing to have opened and closed, but she can't drive a car and have the car not be seen by passers-by. Likewise, since she doesn't become invisible, she is still /there/ - if someone bumps into her, it will usually disrupt her concentration enough that she'll become visible to them, even if just for a moment before she focuses her power again. She will also be recorded/photographed by cameras that happen to be aimed her way.

Lily's parents are comfortably wealthy. She doesn't have free access to their money, but they cover her major bills (rent, utilities) and would help her if something serious were to happen that required more money than she was able to get on short notice (essentially, anything that wouldn't be considered a luxury - so medical emergencies, /maybe/ an outstanding debt if it was a life-or-death situation, and the like).
Flaws
Flaw: Doesn't Belong
Lily suffers from a severe sense that she doesn't belong anywhere she is, and while most of the time this doesn't affect her daily life, it does tend to lead to an inability for her to forge strong relationships with people. She'll form superficial friendships, but she is slow to trust, which could definitely become an issue if she's ever in trouble but has nobody to turn to because of her habit of keeping her distance.
Flaw: Money Mismanager
Because she is used to having things handed to her, for the most part, Lily is not very good at managing money. With her parents handling her rent and utilities this at least hasn't resulted in her being homeless, but it often means that she will buy things on impulse and then not have enough money to pay for things like food, her phone bill or her internet - things her parents /don't/ cover due to their luxury status - on time.
Flaw: Overdramatic
Due to being raised in relative wealth, Lily has a bit of a flair for the overdramatic when things don't go her way. She's only been out in the world for a few years, and so has only had that long to learn what it's like to take care of herself, and this can sometimes manifest itself in ways that lead to her throwing mild temper tantrums over minor inconveniences. It's lost her a few jobs already.

In times of great stress, Lily doesn't always have the strongest control over her power. Fortunately, hers isn't one that can cause physical harm or damage to anyone or anything, but there have been times where stress has led to her 'disappearing' from crowded rooms or accidentally making people forget why they were interacting with her.
History[]
Lily was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on September 20th, 1990. In 1995, her family relocated to Paris (the France one) so that her father could oversee operations at the European headquarters for the engineering firm he worked for. This was a ten year assignment, and in the summer of 2005, the family returned to New Jersey where Lily breezed through four years of high school before going on to college at NYU.
The one thing that moving back to America did accomplish for Lily was that it led to the triggering of her x-gene mutation. Going to a school where nobody knew her was bad enough without her also having a 'weird' accent and a complete lack of knowledge of current pop culture. She was able to make a few friends, but most people thought of her as the weird foreign girl. It was during a particularly embarassing public speaking class when Lily was giving a speech that wasn't going very well that the class started to heckle her to the point where she started crying - the ultimate humiliation for any highschool student - and wishing she could just disappear.
And she did! Or at least, as far as anyone in the room was concerned, she did. She didn't realize it at first, but when everyone was suddenly shocked that she was gone, it was pretty clear that /something/ had happened. Over the next several months she gradually learned how to use and control her mutation, learning what she can and can't do with it, and, more importantly, how to keep other people from finding out about it. Lily was ultimately able to convince people that she had just hidden behind the podium after the event in class, and took care in the future to keep a lower profile.
Being the daughter of comfortably "wealthy" parents, Lily didn't have much of a plan for what to do with her own life save for 'find a cute rich boy, marry him, profit', so when her parents insisted that she actually pursue an education and career of her own, she was at somewhat of a loss for what to do. After completing some core course requirements and a few scattered other classes, she dropped out after two years purely from lack of ambition.
Her parents provide her with a stipend that keeps her bills paid, but any actual 'fun' things that Lily wants to do are things she's discovered she has to earn on her own. Because of this, and her lack of any substantial college education, she tends to find work bartending or waitressing, though can have a hard time actually /keeping/ a job at times. Still, since in the last five years her parents haven't shown any sign of easing up on the reins at all as far as 'giving her money whenever she demands it' goes, she has at least gotten more serious about trying to keep her jobs and may even eventually figure out what she wants to do as a career.
