Abilities

Power: Aquatic Healing (6)

Namor heals more quickly than the normal human or Atlantean when immersed in water. Due to the increased hydration even wounds that seem near lethal while on the surface can be healed when he is in the water.

Power: Bio-Electricity (4)

Another power granted to him by his mutant genome is the ability to store and release electricity much like an electric eel. As he moves his body stores the energy which he can direct and release at will. He is also capable of making his body 'live' so that anyone who touches him is dealt a shock similar to being struck with static electricity.

It has also granted him a minor immunity to electricity as he can simply absorb it to his limit (though he'd be effected by charges stronger than his own ability to store it)

Whenever he lets out the charge however it severely weakens him as he has just expelled a majority of his energy. He can recharge himself rather quickly but he is extremely vulnerable when he expels the majority of the energy he stores. Namor himself considers this power a last resort.

Power: Cold Immunity

Due to his biology being adapted for an enviroment of undersea life he has no susceptiblility to extreme colds.

Power: Endurance (2/6)

Even when not underwater Namor has a high level of endurance that allows him to operate at peek performance for nearly 24 hours before he was tired. Under the water it is even more impressive as he can go days without the need for rest.

Power: Flight (5)

Through his mutant nature Namor has gained the power no Atlantean has had, the ability to fly at transonic speeds. His body has adapted to these speeds and altitude keeping him protected from things like decompression sickness and the low oxygen levels of higher altitudes.

Power: Hybrid Physiology

Namor's abilities derive from the fact that he is hybrid of homo mermanus (Atlantean) and homo superior (Mutant). He is unique to both sides of his heritage. While most of his abilities can be traced to the Atlantean side, he demonstrates abilities that simply being Atlantean and Human does not explain thus he is considered a mutant. Prolonged absence of water will begin to gradually decrease his strength and other abilities to the level of an average Atlantean.

Also, Atlanteans live longer than humans with the average life span being around 120 years old. Namor's hybrid nature seems to make him even more long lived though as he still appears to be in his prime despite being over 100 years old himself. Whether this is another advantage of his mutant nature or the blessings of his Atlantean royal blood is unknown.

Power: Invulnerable (7)

Because his body can withstand the high pressure of the sea, he is highly durable able to take a great deal of punishment be it from weapons or the pounding from other metapowered individuals. He can withstand extremes in temperatures, falls from great heights, and high powered energy blasts without serious injury.

This is added on by his mutant nature that seems to have given him even more of a protection than even the average Atlantean would have when on the surface.

Power: Senses (3)

Namor's senses have adapted for life deep beneath the ocean depths and for higher altitudes. He has no problem seeing in near perfect darkness because of this and see nearly 5 miles in front of him.

In addition his hearing is better than the average human but he cannot hear ultra-sonic sounds.

Power: Strength (6/9)

As half Atlantean, Namor is already stronger than the average human but his mutant nature makes him much stronger than Atlanteans too. On land, he is able to lift a couple hundred tons. He can fly while carrying up to 50 tons with no loss of speed or elevation. His strength is dependent on water. If he is out of contact with some form of water, his strength will decrease gradually. His baseline is just above the average Atlantean (Strength of 6). On the otherside, if he is immersed in water it increases his strength exponationally (Stength of 9). After being recently immersed and out of water his strength lowers to 8. This lowers the longer he is out of the water (lovering to 7 after an hour and finally to 6 after 2 hours.)

Power: Swimming (2)

Having spent his formative years living underwater and his additional strength and stamina beyond both men and Atlanteans, Namor has very few who could match him in swimming. He can easily swim over 70+ knots for prolonged periods of time without tiring or slowing down.

Skill: Atlantean Knowledge

Given the nature of Namor's life among his people and his training to one day become king there are few secrets of Atlantis he was not taught about. He is aware of the workings of all Atlantean technology, the principals behind its magic (though he cannot use it himself) and the use of all the artifacts they have acquired over the years. Only the Logomancer of Atlantis himself is likely to know more than Namor.

Skill: Atlantean Warrior (8)

Since he was old enough to carry a weapon Namor has been trained in the ways of warfare and battle by his tutors in Atlantis. By the time he joined the surface world during World War 2 he was considered the greatest warrior in Atlantis. Due to his extensive training and experience both under the water and above there are few who can seriously expect to be a match for Namor in melee combat.

Skill: Noble Bearings (6)

Namor's personality is one of the king he was born to be. In any given situation (sometimes moment to moment) he can lay on the charm or intimidate those around him. He can be so charming as to soothe any one to his side or bring down righteous fury at the level to make the god's tremble.

Skill: Polygot

Through both training in Atlantis and his time fighting in World War 2 and the Cold War, Namor has mastered many of the languages of the Surface World.

Skill: Soverign Mind (6)

Namor's mind is as much soverign territory as much as his country is. Through years of self-discipline and mental reinforcement Namor has made his mind its own fortress protected from the probings of those so inclined.

Skill: Strategic Genius (7)

Namor has both educational and practical experience in the art of warfare. He helped organize the armies of Atlantis to fight Nazi invasion, plan attacks with Captain America and launch aerial strikes on the Japanese. His vast experience was used to more prepare the Atlantean armies for surface world assaults and he helped develop their submarines to blend more easily in with the aquatic life that surrounded them.

Weapon: Trident of Poseidon (5)

When Atlantis was first forged by Poseidon he wielded a magical trident made by the cyclopes out of adamantine. When he left Atlantis to it's people he left a second trident of identical build with it's rulers. This trident was to belong to the High King of Atlantis and to possess it one had to prove their worth. Namor did so when he followed his heart and saved his beloved Dorma rather than follow through the quests that had been put before him.

The Trident is an effective weapon and hold mystical qualities. It allows its's chosen user the ability to control to currents and intensities of an any body of water, create water elementals, speed water vehicles with water, create fogs and storms of high intensity, and summon waves of water to propel him at great speeds,

Advantages

Advantage: Atlantean Royal Line

Namor was born to be the King of Atlantis and as a result the creatures of the ocean recognize that and give him deference. He cannot control them, but they recognize his nature and tend to not attack or act hostile towards him, even the large predators. This deference applies to the Atlantean people as well who would equally view him as a member of the royal family even if he did not claim the throne.

Advantage: Living Legend

The Sub-Mariner is well known from his past decades of fighting. He fought alongside Captain America and the Invaders during WW2 and the All-Winners Squad during the 50s and 60s. Even though he had disappeared for a long time, he was remembered by society in the form of comic books and cartoons much like the other seemingly larger-than-life heroes of the Golden and Silver Age.

Advantage: Old Allies

Due to his years of active history as a superhero and status in Atlantis, Namor has no shortage of allies. Heroes, soliders, villains, national leaders and others all make up the large group of friends and allies Namor has made over the years.

Advantage: Sunken Treasures

Due to knowledge gathered by Atlantis over the years, Namor knows where many sunken treasures of the surface world are and can find them easily. If those sites are not yet plundered he can find rare items and precious metals and gems that were lost in shipwrecks since the beginning of sea-travel. With those treasures he never has to worry about money on the surface and his social status means he never needs to worry about finacial issues.

Advantage: Underwater Kingdom

As one of the Scions of the royal family of Atlantis, Namor has access to anything and everything that the underwater kingdom has to offer. This includes access to it's magics, advanced technology, natural resources and it's armies. Namor is a beloved figure among the Atlantean people having giving of himself often in the name of the kingdom. This connection however can be used against him if a government of political body is hostile to Atlantis it can force him in to action or inaction.

Flaws

Flaw: Arrogance

Namor is so assured of his position in the world and the strength of his abilities that he feels he can do no wrong and choose no wrong battle. He always charges headlong into a conflict, whether it is one of fists or one of hearts. The Avenging Son is loathe to ever admit he made a mistake or chose the wrong side, often justifying his actions as being in the best interest of Atlantis.

Flaw: Atlantis First

Despite his loyalties to various friends and allies, in Namor's mind Atlantis always comes first. Whenever it becomes a choice between what is good for Atlantis and anything else he will always choose Atlantis, even if it would directly harm him to make that choice.

Flaw: Dehydration

Namor can be susceptible to very high powered heat attacks as they tend to dehydrate him faster and thus weakening him.

Flaw: Hot-Headed

Namor does nothing in halfsteps. When he falls in love, he is obsessive in that love. When he hates something, he will stop at nothing but to end it. Emotions already run strong in Atlanteans but Namor seems even worse as near everything is either the greatest accolade or greatest betrayal ever to occur with him.

Flaw: Pollution

Namor will suffer physical and mental detriments if he is immersed in polluted water. One of his main gripes with the surface world is wanton destruction and pollution.

Flaw: Water Deficiency

When Namor is not exposed to water, his abilities will gradually decline. His base level is closer to an average Atlantean. While this is stronger than a human, he is still weaker than he would normally be. His powers begin to decrease after a day of no expose to some kind of water.

Flaw: Wings

Despite not seeming suitable for the speeds and maneuvers that Namor preforms in the air, the wings on his ankles are somehow connected to his flight ability. If the wings are ever damaged or removed his flight is equally impaired until they are healed (usually by returning to the water)

History[]

Namor McKenzie, the Avenging Son of Atlantis was born through a unexpected union between the daughter of King Trak-kor, Fen and an explorer named Leonard McKenzie. Leonard on a mission from Winston Churchil to recover vibranium from Antartica; Princess Fen spying on the surface dwellers who had come so close to Atlantis. They fell in love, married and consummated their union within days of meeting. But there love was not to last. The Atlantean Royal Guard went to retrieve Fen and killed Leonard in their assualt. But it was soon after that, Namor was born.

He grew up as any Atlantean would, though his pink skin revealed the nature of his mixed birth. Though shunned by some, many saw him as an omen of Atlantean supremeacy. Even his own grandfather did, proclaiming that Namor would be the heir to his half of the throne of Atlantis. And he believed that when Namor took the throne, so the surface world would fall.

Perhaps this is why he sent the eighteen year old boy to the surface to investigate the divers and submarines that the surface world had been sending in greater numbers: as a vanguard of an assault that would one day be lead by Namor. Though fate had other plans and after a very public battle with the Human Torch of that era, Atlantis was attacked by the Nazi U-boats.

Namor took sides with Allied Forces, fighting with Captain America and his one time enemy the Human Torch. With the Invaders he fought in every arena of the conflict on many missions both official and unofficial. And with his help, the Allies won. After the war Namor joined the short lived All-Winner's Squad for the American government. But times were changing and the Cold War was not the World War. As the All Winner's Squad disband and given metals for their service, Namor left for Atlantis.

In Atlantis he served both kings as the right hand of the Crown. Dealing with they small problems of Atlantis and planning the advancement of the military. When Atlantis was invaded by the barbarian Attuma, Namor was sent to recover the Sacred Trident of Neptune (it's twin the Trident of Poseidon was already in King Trevis's possession.) He was given trials and quests to complete but discarded them to save his love and betrothed, Dorma. By doing so he proved his worth and brought the Trident back and repelled Attuma's invasion.

Then 35 years ago he disappeared. He was warned not to leave, Thak-kor's health was failing and Trevis's son Orin had been born with blonde hair. The Logomancer told him it was an omen that Namor would fall in battle. But in his arrogance Namor left, having grown so bold and self assured that he felt no force could stop him. He did not account on the man called Destine and the Crown of Set. After Namor was dispatched he attacked Atlantis forcing them to flee the Antarctic location of the city and to resettle elsewhere.

Defeated and rendered amnesiac as a result, Namor wandered the coasts of the United States for 35 years. Dressed as an homeless man who moved from shelter to shelter trying to remember exactly who he was and why he dreamed of the sea. It wasn't until the recently with the return of such heroes as Captain America that his memory returned enough for him to remember. He now seeks a path of his own, one previously undreamed of. Something new. Something to hold his interest for more than a few years. A purpose of his own design.
