"IT'S PRIME TIME!
I've been saving that one."

"Someone--he said, 'They can be a great people--they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way.' ...I wish I remembered who told me that."

Born an aberration of Hypertime itself, Prime is the the boy who would have been Superman--that is, if his world had ever existed. Stranded on this world, newly formed and with a head full of amnesia and a constant, gnawing need to BE SOMEONE, Prime is struggling. Memories come as he sleeps of a life he has never lived. He is on the edge, and depending on others...could become a great hero...or a terrifying villain...

Abilities

Power: Breath (3)

Range: At 20 feet, chill an object to -50F or create 70mph winds

Area of Effect: Consistently widening and dissipating at a equal rate

Limitations: Requires a gaseous atmosphere

Prime can create a number of effects by expelling air through his lips. He can cause heat dissipation, super-cooling the air like an arctic wind, able to freeze objects up to the size of a large armored vehicle. The air can be released at normal temperature or in rapid gusts or blasts, akin to gale force winds. Also notable, Prime can tremendous breath control, allowing him to pull in oxygen through his nose while cycling it back out through his mouth or to hold his breath for nearly an entire day--15 to 20 hours, specifically--before needing to take in additional oxygen. This allows him to travel through space or underwater for extended periods.

Power: Flight (6)

Prime is able to fly by manipulating kinetic force around his body, allowing him to attain transonic speeds within an atmosphere. Outside of an atmosphere, he can attain much greater speeds.

Power: Heat Vision (4)

Area of Effect: 8 inches wide; 70 yards long

Prime can utilize stored solar energy to affect heat diffiusion. While his breath can dissipate heat, his eyes can focus it, allowing him to expel beams of heat at any target in his line of sight.

Power: Invulnerability (8)

Prime's molecular density is greater than that of a normal human, but even more key to his invulnerability is a micro-thin force field that encloses his body. The field does not prohibit Prime from touching, tasting, or otherwise interacting with the world, but it does filter out harmful effects, antigens, and nearly anything that might damage him physically. With access to solar radiation from a star of yellow or greater intensity, Prime also heals very rapidly and completely, allowing him to regenerate from nearly any harm, even many "fatal" injuries. The forcefield can also be projected a short distance outside his body, protecting anything held very close to him, such as his clothing or a person or object held close against his body.

Power: Resistances

Magic: Unlike a typical Kryptonian, Prime has some very powerful, if specialized, magical resistances. Effects that would alter him directly, affect his mind, or alter his perceptions seem to fail almost automatically against him. However, he only has a resistance of 6 against basic, direct damage magical powers, such as energy blasts or fireballs.

Mind Control: Much like magic, any attempts at manipulating or controlling his thoughts seem to automatically fail. However, his mind is not particularly difficult to read (though it's a bit chaotic in there at times), and direct psychic attacks affect him normally, as if he had a resistance of 5.

Power Stealing: Prime's abilities cannot be copied or stolen.

Reality Manipulation: Prime cannot be directly harmed or altered by any reality- warping effects. Indirect effects, such as conjuring up a dangerous creature, tend to have more success.

Prime's unique Hypertemporal origins have rendered him oddly attuned to the reality around him. In some ways, this makes him highly resistant to certain powers, such as reality manipulation, magic, mind control, and power mimicry.

Power: Senses (4)

Range: 10 miles

Limitations: Can be obstructed (Cannot see through lead)

Prime's senses are psychokinetically augmented by the solar energies within him. This allows him to see as far as the curvature of the Earth allows, to pick out sounds miles away and both hear and see in wavelengths far beyond the human perceptible range. This includes the ability to hear the entire range of audible sound and to see along the entire infrared spectrum. The clarity of his vision is also microscopic as well as telescopic, allowing him to see the structure of matter down to the atomic level.

Power: Solar Battery

As a Kryptonian, Prime absorbs solar energy from stars of yellow intesnsity of greater, such as Earth's sun. This energy is stored within his body, serving as a power source for his race's latent psychokinetic abilities. Unlike a true psychic, Kryptonian powers operate by instinct and physical focus, taking the form if such abilities as are described throughout these traits. If Prime's solar energies are depleted, he can be rendered nearly as powerless as an ordinary human, though his molecular density still grants him modestly enhanced strength and toughness.

Power: Speed (5)

Though his speed is modest by the standards of a Speed Force user, Prime is still capable of moving at land speeds of up to 5,000 MPH within the Earth's atmosphere. He is able to perform various physical tasks at roughly 50 times the speed of a human in optimal physical condition.

Power: Strength (9)

Prime's strength is enhanced via a tactile telekinetic field that extends to any object he touches. This field grants the vast majority of his invulnerability to damage, and it also allows him to exert much greater physical force than most other beings. In addition, this field grants stability to whatever he touches, allowing him to perform such feats as picking up an airplane by an otherwise fragile wing or to use a lamp pole as a viable weapon, where it would otherwise shatter in his hands if he forcefully swung it at anything. Prime's solar reserves also grant him effectively limitless stamina and sustenance, allowing him to subsist with minimal rest or nutrition for weeks at a time.

Skill: Agility (5)

Prime is not an extensively trained athlete or combatant, but largely thanks to his powers he has the agility to "fake it" pretty well as either one. He does not know advanced combat techniques or athletic maneuvers, but when it comes to punching, kicking, dodging, or otherwise moving around he can mix it up like a pro, particularly given his speed and strength.

Skill: Knowledge

Prime has hazy knowledge from his life that almost was. This includes a basic education, equivalent to that of high school, as well as a variety of knowledge that he has as a result of being imprinted by Superman. This includes speaking a variety of languages, including Kryptonian, and having somewhat extensive knowledge of Kryptonian culture and technology.

Skill: Science (6)

Prime has advanced scientific knowledge thanks to the imprint of Kryptonian knowledge that he carries in his mind. His Kryptonian-imprinted knowledge makes him especially savvy in this area, though there are some areas of Earth technology that are too esoteric or primitive for him to understand well based on his Kryptonian knowledge.

Advantages

Flaws

Flaw: Blue Kryptonite

Prime is weak against a strange variant of typical Kryptonite: Blue Kryptonite. Because of the warping he underwent via Hypertime, his vulnerability is somewhat different from that of typical Kryptonians. This is something of an advantage, because it is not so widely known as the green sort, but this is balanced by the fact that Blue Kryptonite is much easier to replicate or synthesize. Only a small quantity arrived on Earth with Prime, but it could easily be reproduced by others.

Otherwise, Prime reacts to Blue Kryptonite as a Kryptonian would to green. This means that if Prime is struck by a Blue Kryptonite weapon, he will be harmed as a normal mortal would. If he comes within close proximity to the stuff, such as a few feet, he will begin to lose his powers rapidly, and within minutes will be totally incapacitated. However, the rate of recovery once removed from the emissions is as rapid as the rate of damage, and Prime will be back to normal in under an hour after exposure if he can directly absorb enough solar energy. Kryptonite radiation can be blocked by lead or super-dense materials.

Flaw: Strange Visitor

Prime is a native of this world, but he is also an alien being. Not merely born on a distant world, he was created from the Hypertemporal echoes of a reality that never was. This has left a void deep in his being, one that can sap his confidence and makes him yearn for a place to belong, to feel valued. The weakness this creates manifests in a way that is more psychological than physical, but even if he learns to cope with it, it will always be with him. A skilled manipulator might be able to use this against him.

Flaw: True Believers

While Prime is strongly immune to many supernatural or super-powered attempts to affect him, he has a weakness to something potentially much more common: true belief. Because of his origin, Prime carries something of a void within him. That void renders him especially vulnerable to those of especially deep convictions. This works much akin to the legends of "true faith" being able to turn or repel a vampire. Prime can easily be blocked or driven back by a true believer wielding a symbol of what they believe in. This belief does not have to be religious, certainly not any specific faith, but it does need to be in something greater than oneself. Thus, a person of phenomenal willpower could not cow Prime with their force of personality, but a cop who truly faithfully believes in the law could wield her badge against him, just as a devout believer could do the same with a crucifix or David's Star. Note, though, that this references true, deep belief--the average person does not have it. It should be a notable aspect of the character that they hold this belief, not just a casually referenced add-on.

History[]

Consider a world--we'll call it Earth Prime--that never existed. It would have been a core, a central nexus, a concept that Hypertime created a potential space to allow for in case the stability of the Hypertemporal Multiverse were ever truly threatened. In such a case, this realm would have preserved versions of various beings that were key to the universe's various focal points. Many were figures like Ghandi or Einstein--key figures in Earth's development, but they were solidly contained within one reality. Some blurred that line because by their nature they frequently traveled between universes. One such is Superman, a figure who often defines important elements of his home reality while also occasionally transcending its borders.

This is how Prime comes about: he is that potential Superman who should never have existed, but due to all of the Hypertime ripples created by various Supermen and Superboys throughout the various realities, enough of that residual energy was "echoed" into the potential space where Earth Prime would have existed to create him, imprinting him with a slightly distorted echo of what he could have been. However, because there was no world there, he existed as nothing but a phantom of possibility, a twisted up accident of reality. Due to a distant cosmic event, that essence was sapped from Hypertime potentiality and bled out onto the Earth of our world. There, it staggered into being with fragmented memories and a deep, burning desire to find where it--where he--really belonged.

Kal-El (Superman)

Kal-El, alias Superman, is the closest thing to a real personal connection that Prime has, as in a very different potential reality, Superman is exactly who Prime would have been.

Kon-El (Superboy)

The first person Prime met upon arriving on Earth was Superboy. Not much came of the meeting, but it left a lasting impression on Prime--that he knew he could not be the Superboy of this world.

Cable

Cable tracked Prime down as an aberration in reality and, realizing just how muddled the Hypertime orphan was, took him back to his hidden base, Greymalkin, and under his wing. Harsh lessons ensued.
