Overview[]
Deathstroke
After US Army Captain Slade Wilson was experimented on he became a soldier with virtually no peers. Inevitably leaving the Army behind, he has since molded himself into one of the most sought-after mercenaries on the planet: Deathstroke, the Terminator.

Abilities
Gear: Armor (6)
Composed of multiple layers and incorporating materials like Kevlar, silicon carbide ceramics, various aramid fibers, and several exotic metals, Deathstroke's tactical armor offers far more protection than anything available to the world's militaries, but is far too heavy to be worn by normal soldiers and operatives.
Gear: Arsenal (6)
Under normal conditions, all that Slade needs to accomplish a mission is his armor, a pistol and a sword. Maybe some grenades or an assault rifle. However, some jobs are more specialized than others and Slade has an armory to match just about any sort of mission. Bombs, rockets, plasma rifles, EMPs, flamethrowers, etc. He can get his hands on weapons that do damage equivalent to advanced-tech weapons (Arsenal: 6) with little trouble.
Gear: Sword (2)
Perhaps the most distinctive weapon in Deathstroke's arsenal is a broadsword constructed of very expensive steel (Toughness: 5). Weighted perfectly for both decapitation and disembowelment, it is virtually always strapped to his back when he goes into combat.
Power: Dexterity (6)
Slade's brain reacts nearly nine times faster than that of an unenhanced human, but his body is a bit more sluggish. Only a bit. He is extremely flexible and agile for any man, let alone for a man who is nearing sixty. He is capable of dodging kung fu punches from multiple ninjas, avoiding gunfire from multiple directions, doing backflips off of a moving aircraft onto a moving train, etc.
Power: Endurance (2)
When on a mission, Slade seems to never grow tired. His endurance does, of course, have limits but these limits are beyond the bounds of even 'peak humans.' With the right combination of hormones and motivation, he is capable of exerting himself at near peak capacity (ie; sprinting) for nearly an entire day before succumbing to exhaustion.
Power: Healing (5)
Although he is unable to regenerate lost body parts, Slade's healing abilities have allowed him to come back from the brink of death many times since he was experimented upon. In his line of work he is frequently shot, stabbed, bludgeoned and burned, but he keeps coming back as strong as ever. Minor wounds heal within minutes or hours, broken bones are completely mended within days, and near-fatal internal injuries merely cause him to go into a 'healing coma' for a while.
After waking up from a near-death experience, the buildup of hormones and chemicals tends to cause Slade to go insane (see Flaw: Madness) and suffer from something very much like 'roid rage on 'roids. The length of the after effects is proportional to the severity of the wounds he received. Generally, he's back to some semblance of normalcy within a few weeks after reawakening.
Power: Intellect (6)
Ever since his brain was flooded with chemicals Slade's mental processes have been enhanced to about nine times their original values. Put simply, he is much smarter and thinks much faster than all but the handful of super geniuses who live in places volcanoes or on the moon. The majority of this extra mental accuity has been diverted to working as a 'tactical computer' of sorts (see Ability: Tactics), granting him near-Vulcan levels of logic and strategy.
He doesn't really appear to be that much smarter than other people, and isn't likely to go near a microscope or a Hadron Collider. But the unused portions of his brain are constantly crunching numbers for him, giving him near-total awareness of whatever battlefield he finds himself in.
Power: Speed (1)
When full-out sprinting, Slade is capable of catching up with cars (or when walking, if he's in New York Traffic). He can move about twice as fast as a peak human athlete for short bursts (a few seconds) at a time.
Power: Strength (4)
Experimental hormone therapy and a lifetime of strenuous activity have made Slade stronger than ten regular men. He can press more than a ton, and is capable of lifting the average car over his head.
Skill: Combat (8/9)
Deathstroke has been at war for as long as he can remember and this constant fight for survival has made him one of the deadliest men alive. He's studied myriad martial arts and seamlessly converted them into a personal style that's efficient, brutal, and lethal, making him one of the premiere empty hand combatants in the world. But where he truly excels is with weapons. His command of a sword or staff ranks among a handful of true elites, making him a terror with a bladed weapon in a modern world of firearms.
Skill: Tactics (9)
The extra brainpower granted to Slade Wilson has mostly been applied toward mastering the skills of his chosen profession. He is a tactician with few peers, as his deceased foes can easily attest. His primary focus has traditionally been on small unit tactics or solo operations, but his scope has gradually expanded to encompass virtually any type of methodical planning. Slade is equally capable planning out the next five minutes, or the next five years.
Skill: Marksman (7)
Deathstroke is an excellent marksman, with skill great enough to warrant sniper title with any military on the planet. His enhanced nature makes him lethal at nearly any range.
Advantages
Advantage: Company
A semi-legitimate contracting company has been set up by Slade Wilson and his old friend Billy Wintergreen. Headquartered in 'Eth Alth'eban, the place provides a safe storefront for prospective employers to acquire the services of Deathstroke.
Advantage: Contacts
Slade has worked for the US Government (and others) for decades, in the darkest corners of the blackest of ops. He knows people, people owe him favors, and every one of them fears the day he comes to collect because refusing him is never an option.
Advantage: Reputation
Deathstroke isn't one of the world's most sought-after mercenaries for no reason. He has a nearly unrivaled mission success rate and is notorious for committing flagrantly over-the-top acts of violence on his employers' behalf. Most importantly, however, is the fact that he always makes good on promises and never goes back on an honest contract. He will not ditch his employer for a more lucrative offer after his word has been given and he will accomplish his mission regardless of the cost to himself.
Advantage: Wealth
Slade collects millions for his contracts, not thousands, and he's amassed a sizeable fortune. While no billionaire, he's easily a member of the idle rich with a worth in the low hundreds of millions range. This opens doors.
Advantage: Wintergreen
A longtime personal friend who oversees the operation of Deathstroke's contracting company and serves as a handler when Deathstroke is in the field. Wintergreen is one of the few people who remembers Slade from his time before Team 7, and one of the few people who can talk him down when he seems determined to act crazy. Unfortunately, he is too old to be of much use in the field anymore but is still an invaluable member of Deathstroke's operation.
Flaws
Flaw: Enemies
Deathstroke has been a soldier for so long he has almost no allies and his enemies are countless. Nations he's helped topple, armies he's destroyed, secrets he's uncovered, lives he's ruined or taken. You'd be hard pressed to find a man with more people motivated to kill him. Very very dangerous people.
Flaw: Madness
It's something that he's learned to deal with over the years, but madness is Slade's frequently-recurring archnemesis. This is most notable after he survives what would have been a fatal injury to a normal man and awakes from a healing coma. He tends to awaken as a slavering madman with an incredibly volatile temper and a propensity toward lashing out at whatever is available. However, this condition usually works itself out after a few days or weeks, depending on the severity of the trauma.
But even when he appears to be relatively normal, there is always a spark of insanity burning in his remaining good eye. He is a man who often has a difficult time maintaining perspective, escalating perceived slights into declarations of war. Minor failures can cause him to fly into fits of rage. Personal vendettas can be carried on long past their logical conclusion. He will accept great cost to himself, his family, or innocent bystanders in order to pursue a goal that the casual observer would find trivial. Put simply, he is constantly teetering on the edge of madness, and the proper push can completely upend his balance.
Flaw: Negotiation
Nevermind terrorists, Slade Wilson doesn't negotiate with anyone. Even when the life of a close friend or family member is on the line, he is incapable of admitting that someone has the upper hand over him. He is unreasonable beyond a fault.
Flaw: One Eye
Slade only has one eye, which is likely the only reason he's a less then perfect marksman. His enhancements tend to make up for this weakness, but they can only go so far. He remains blind on one side after all, and it's no small thing.
Flaw: Promises
Slade's word is his bond. Once a promise is made, he will see it through regardless of the cost. He takes his 'honor' so seriously that he has, in the past, killed potential employers simply for questioning the value of his word. It is for this reason that he is so particular about the wording of contracts that he accepts.
This also means that he tends to stick exactly to the wording of his contracts. He won't kill a sidekick as a bonus when he was contracted to kill a superhero, for example. He also won't honor promises that were fraudulently obtained, if an employer told him to destroy a building full of mutant terrorists and he finds out the building is actually full of young runaways, for another example.
Flaw: Wanted
Deathstroke wears distinctive armor when in the field and commits extremely violent crimes for whoever will pay him. The intelligence community has tons of data on both Deathstroke and Slade Wilson, and he is officially wanted by many of the world's governments. His life could easily be made very complicated if he were to stray too far from his path as a 'global janitor' of sorts. As it is, the powers that be have seen fit to leave him to his own devices for now, though how much longer this will last is a source of some worry for The Terminator.
History[]
The Army made Captain Slade Wilson all he could be. Then it made him a monster. When the special forces operative was given an untested serum, he became something more than human while also losing touch with his humanity.
Several years later, Major Wilson was seemingly discharged from the Army and moved to Team 7. He left behind him a bunch of redacted files about missions that never officially existed. He began working with private contractors, further distancing his brand of 'black bag' work from official government channels. He began going by aliases, leaving behind his identity as Lieutenant Colonel Slade Wilson when operating as a mercenary.
Over time, his reputation in both the intelligence community and criminal underworld grew to such an extent that the very mention of 'Deathstroke' or 'The Terminator' was enough to cause missions and criminal undertakings to be suspended. Billionaires, corporations, and mob bosses began paying Deathstroke's handler exorbitant protection fees just to keep him from interfering in their plans. Eventually, all official connections between Colonel Slade Wilson and the US government were terminated.
Today, Deathstroke the Terminator is one of the world's most sought-after and highly-paid mercenaries. He has an almost unparalleled reputation as both a bodyguard and an assassin. But he appears to be growing increasingly unsatisfied with this role, and may have ambitions that exceed anything that anyone might have ever guessed.
